CABOT® CREAMERY COOPERATIVE
INTRODUCES CABOT GREEK STYLE YOGURT

AVAILABLE NOW AT SHAW’S® SUPERMARKETS

It’s Richer, Smoother and Creamier Than Traditional American Yogurt

CABOT, VT. (Nov. 26, 2007) Move over ho-hum yogurt, it’s time to make room for Cabot Creamery Cooperative’s great tasting Cabot Greek Style Yogurt – the richer, smoother, creamier yogurt that is taking America by storm.

Greek-style yogurt? That’s right, Greek-style yogurt is known worldwide for its thick, rich consistency, smooth body and amazing taste. Cabot’s unique recipe for Greek Style yogurt results in the same great taste and texture as traditional Greek yogurt. As such, the Vermont-based farmer-owned cooperative, best known as “Makers of The World’s Best Cheddar,” is well on its way to being recognized as “Makers of The World’s Best Greek Style Yogurt.”

“Our new line of Greek Style Yogurt melts in your mouth – better than ice cream if you want rich, luscious taste,” says Cabot Creamery Cooperative’s CEO, Richard Stammer. “The family farmer-owners of Cabot Creamery Cooperative have produced another world-class product. And, like our award winning cheeses, our Greek Style Yogurt is in a class all by itself. We’re proud of that and we think our customers will agree.”

Available now at area Shaw’s Supermarkets, the retail food chain currently stocks Cabot Greek Style Yogurt in the following six-ounce flavors: Peach, Strawberry, Vanilla Bean and Honey. Shaw’s also carries Cabot’s Plain Flavor Greek Style Yogurt in a 32-ounce size.

Yogurt is one of the oldest known foods, dating back more than 4,500 years. Consistencies vary greatly by country and even geographic locales and, historically, Americans have embraced very sweet, fruit-flavored yogurts. But tastes are changing and more and more Americans are embracing Greek-style yogurts. Their concentrated nutrients include high levels of calcium, protein, vitamins B6 and B12, and magnesium, all of which promote intestinal health and help cure bacterial infections.

While the health benefits of Cabot Greek Style Yogurt are broad, there are also numerous cooking advantages over traditional American yogurt.

“Cabot’s Greek Style Yogurt has countless uses as an ingredient in recipes,” says Cabot’s celebrity Chef of Staff, Jon Ashton. “It won’t separate when it is baked and can easily be substituted for cream. Best of all, it can be used in so many wonderful recipes. It’s great with honey and nuts, makes a great smoothie and it makes an amazing chiffon or topping for healthy desserts.”
